After running a very successful marathon, the Caipirinha Appreciation Society come back in great shape. Here's a fresh episode with a fine collection of cliché-proof Brazilian songs
In this edition, Stephen shares his impressions of two leading political figures for Africa: Zimbabwe's deputy prime minister, Thokozani Khuphe, and Britain's new minister of state for Africa, Henry Bellingham. Whilst Zimbabwe seeks to attract foreign investment in its ailing economy, Britain's new minister for Africa has embarked on his first tour of the continent's 'hot spots'. Stephen wonders why Zimbabwe's deputy prime minister seems unable to think in modern and progressive terms. Equally, does Bellingham have the seniority and political clout required to makes moves in countries like Somalia? Intentions may be honourable, but are they matched by capacity?

Usually, its all about disappointing headliners trying to climax the proceedings versus smile inducing discoveries on the smaller stages during the day. One headliner we know wont let us down are THE VERY BEST; scheduled to top the bill at Stop Making Sense in Croatia September 2010, Madera Verde caught up with them at the Paleo Festival in Switzerland to see what they have in store! Also the usual International selection; FILEWILE from Switzerland, THE CORRSPONDENTS from Lonondon(they are going to be big, trust us!), LA REDONDA from Venezuela, LE KKC ORCHESTRA from France, SOUTH RAKKAS CREW from Canada...fly my pretties, fly!
