Brought to you from two continents, the Caipirinhia Appreciation Society (MdC Suingue and Kika Serra) cover the latest records from Brazil, revealing the scene behind the cliche and presenting a whole world of underexposed music. Brazilian journalist MdC Suingue (Portuguese for "Swing") has been living in London since 1998, where he created CAS to show that there is a lot more to Brazilian music than what the major record companies would have you believe. Kika Serra, who some years ago traded London back for Rio de Janeiro, joined CAS in 2006, when the show became a bi-national broadcast.

The third and final installment of the CAIPIRINHA APPRECIATION SOCIETY's Pernambuco Trilogy will travel deep into the Zona da Mata, the "bush" region in the interior of the state, for true grassroots culture and fun. Tag along MdC Suingue & Kika Serra as they witness an all-night rural sambada (the 92nd anniversary of "Maracatu Rural de Baque Solto Cambinda Brasileira", in the heart of the sugar-cane plantations). Let's bora!

Despite the title of this episode, which translates as "tacky" or "corny", this show is not a compilation of songs generally considered as such. It is our quiet protest about the people who deem themselves to be the guardians of good taste. How dare they? That is OUR job! ;o)
